The Milton Mausoleum Summer Concert

The Milton Mausoleum has to be a favourite place to sing. The whole atmosphere of the place seems to lend itself to the quality and sincerity of the event. The full to capacity audience was most appreciative of all performers and all items received hearty applause. When they enthusiastically joined all the singers in two patriotic pieces the whole building was awash with waving flags!

The Dukeries Singers, Guest singers The Gentlemen, Guest soprano Alison Wade and Ash all gave wonderful performances as did our two pianists. As Vera was recovering from her operation, her solo was confidently and sweetly sung by Cerys Williams ........a star in the making!

The arrangements for the whole evening were superbly planned by Gill and Bobby and their magnificent team. The amount of work that must have been undertaken in order that the event ran so smoothly was boundless. From welcome, seating, raffle, beautiful flower arrangements, drinks, delicious refreshments and ice cream, to ticket selling and all the administration involved, all was impeccable.

I think the whole event was enjoyed by all. A delightful way to spend a balmy Summer evening in the company of accomplished performers and a friendly and enthusiastic audience.

We would love to sing again there.
