Edwinstowe, Thoresby and Sherwood Forest Visitors Centre

Well it's certainly starting to ‘feel’ a lot like Christmas now we have commenced our festive programme with 3 engagements in almost as many days

On Thursday we had a lovely – if a little chilly – time at the Edwinstowe Christmas lights switch on which was tremendously well supported by local residents and visitors alike.

Saturday saw us visit Thoresby Courtyard for the Winterfest Craft fair, again singing outside with the sun setting in a beautiful sky towards the end of the afternoon. There were plenty of people milling around and some very generous, well received applause from on lookers and shoppers alike. Thankfully we had the joy of being accompanied by our resident pianist Janet.

Many of our singers donned festive outfits, well and truly getting into the spirit of Christmas!

The weekend concluded with our annual visit to the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre café where we entertained their clientele with some popular Christmas songs and carols. Again due to space restrictions, we sang a capella, which is how carollers would sing at gatherings back in the time of Robin Hood. We do like to keep it traditional where we can!.

Look out for more updates on our Facebook page for details of our forthcoming events.
