The Joint Concert with Les Baladins des Bords de L'Indre
Or, as we now refer to them, as our French Friends. And didn't our scarves fit beautifully!!
The Concert was a huge success and I for one enjoyed every minute.
The music soared, the wine flowed and everyone had a good time .
The breadth of chosen music was wide enough for all tastes. The singing styles of the two choirs and the different sound produced by them gave even greater variety. The Church is a lovely place to perform and the large muster of singers filled the space with music to delight the appreciative audience. After the last piece of music of the evening, a joint performance by the two choirs of Adoramus Te we had a standing ovation!! a rare event but well deserved I feel.
The soloists, Ash and Nick gave terrific performances. Nick's ancient instruments and his lyrical playing of them is a unique experience and was well received. Ash's brilliantly spirited piece was loudly applauded and ably accompanied by Maureen and our pianist Janet did her magic accompanying for the choir in her corner. We are so fortunate to have such gifted pianists among us.
There must have been an enormous amount of hard work and organising skills employed in order to get such a successful undertaking off the ground. All hats must be taken off to Gill as the efficient driving force behind it all. She will no doubt heap praises on her team of assistants and we too thank all involved for a wonderful evening.
Onwards now to Christmas!
