July Update
I write this month's article cosily warm at the beginning of our English Summer wearing a fleece and with the heating turned up sufficiently to sustain life! However our Choir rehearsals are cheery and energetic and warm the soul. If you would like to sing with us you would be very welcome, especially if you are a fella. Simply turn up at a practise night and give us a try out. There are no auditions and no necessity to read music, we are a very friendly group of people. Age is no barrier either. Our ages range from sixteen to eighty three.
We meet every Wednesday at The Dukeries Academy, Ollerton, in the refreshment area above the Concert Hall at 7-30pm until 9-30pm. This is accessed by the Leisure Centre entrance and car park.
We have a web site thedukeriessingers.com where all details can be found.
We have one upcoming Concert which will be a new experience for us;
Friday 28th October 2016 A joint Concert with "Les Baladins des Bords de L'Indre" from Tours,
France, at East Drayton Church.
Hopefully our Schooldays French will all magically come flooding back to us!! Bon chance!
The Choir is having a two week break on the 24th and 31st August but will be back in September full of enthusiasm as usual. Let's hope for some glimmers of sunshine before then!
Happy Days,
Jan
