The Milton Mausoleum Midsummer Music Concert

What an amazing place to perform. It is well worth a visit and a guided tour. Norman and I went one Sunday afternoon and were guided by Bobbie and Linda in a most professional manner. They were founts of knowledge on the Mausoleum's fascinating history.

Well done to Gill ,Bobbie and their myriad helpers, the organisation was second to none. It was like a mini Glyndbourne having our delicious nibbles and wine outdoors on such a balmy evening.

The Concert itself was a resounding success. I listened outside as people left and they were full of praise for the choir and soloists. So many complimentary remarks makes one want to do it all again.........even better.

Our soloists need a mention. They give even more variety to our performances...........and a bit of a sit down for the choir.

We have done some work with Nick Parkes before and he brought his medieval instruments again ably assisted by his daughter Lydia and played several ancient pieces.

Grace sang "Naughty" in a most un-naughty way. She is a star.

Alison Wade entertained us with songs from musical shows and ALL the children in the audience joined in with a song from "Frozen" AND knew all the words!

The Andrews Sisters, Ariella, Grace and Caitlin wiggled their way through Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy from Company B again to rapturous applause.

Ashley again made the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end with his beautiful violin solo--------the Ashokan Farewell.

Thanks to Janet for her sympathetic accompaniment and to Ash for his enthusiastic and energising direction.
