Vicki Melling
Vicki studied Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London and has had some great opportunities to sing at a range of amazing places around the world.
Vicki continues as a freelance mezzo soprano as well as teaching piano, singing and clarinet.
She enjoys playing a wide range of instruments and loves a wide variety of music styles.
As well as accepting the invitation to be the Musical Director for The Dukeries Singers, she is also the Musical Director for the region's Women’s Institute Choir as well as The Forest Singers based in Mansfield.
Vicki is keen to encourage more people to get involved in singing in a choir. The Dukeries Singers are always looking for new singers to come and join in the fun. If you are interested in coming to have a listen or try us out, then please get in touch.

Meet our piano accompanist
Maureen Lockwood
Maureen Lockwood
Maureen began playing the piano at the age of 9 and achieved distinction in grade 8 at the age of 17.
She was church organist for 15 years until August 2011 and has previously accompanied choirs in Newark, Elston, Winthorpe and Mansfield. She accompanies soloists for concerts, weddings and other similar performances and has accompanied a vocal trio and quartet locally. She has also provided accompaniments for music festivals and competitions and is a regular accompanist for instrumental exams in the Newark and Grantham area.
She has played for The King and I, Oliver, South Pacific, Cats and Oklahoma, as pianist for Newark Amateur Operatics Society, whose successful shows at The Palace Theatre Newark are always a box office sell-out.
